Mobi-Vac started in 1985 when the original owners spotted a simple problem: clearing gutters by hand made a mess of the property underneath. The fix was a truck-mounted vacuum that lifts debris straight into a sealed unit, so nothing gets hosed onto paths or blown across gardens.

Johno was part of the hands-on team before the opportunity came up to buy the business. He and Ilona took it on to keep it running the way it always had been: family owned, locally operated, and held to the standard it was built on.

How often should I get my gutters cleaned?

Once a year suits most Christchurch homes. If you have pine, gum or deciduous trees close by, twice a year is a better bet, because that is what causes overflows and water getting in under the roofline.

What is vacuum gutter cleaning and why is it better?

Mobi-Vac runs a truck-mounted vacuum that lifts everything out of the gutter and into a sealed unit. Hand-clearing and hosing push debris down your downpipes or onto your paths and gardens. Vacuum extraction takes it away entirely, and the waste gets composted afterwards.

Do you service two-storey homes?
